Nighthawksblues.com is the brainchild of Christian Rasmussen III, Prop. Of Nighthawk's Tap Room, 3rd & King, downtown La Crosse, WI, USA. "Ras" has created Nighthawksblues.com because, as Dr. Johnny Fever of WKRP in Cincinnati once said, "If I don't teach the kids about the blues, who will?"

A south side Chicago native, the blues capital of the world, Ras learned about the blues during the mid 60's blues revival. In the late 60's, Ras moved to Wisconsin to attend UW-Whitewater. After being overeducated and graduated, Ras decided to settle in Wisconsin and spread the "Blues" word.

After working many years at a variety of jobs, Ras decided to focus on his first love, bar tending. He spent many years managing bars for other people, when in 1993, he struck out on his own.

On April Fool's Day, 1993, Nighthawk's Tap Room opened and quickly attracted local, regional, and national blues acts to Wisconsin's West Coast. The banks of the mighty Mississippi have always been fertile ground for the blues and Nighthawk's continues that tradition.

As Ras always says, "Everybody gets the blues, if they're lucky." Stop in and get your share at Nighthawk's where there is live music every Wednesday through Saturday. Nighthawks is open 7 days a week with the best blues juke box on the planet.
